Top Cats and Cat Fanciers Association Awards

CFA has three categories of competition:  the Championship class for whole cats over the age of 8 months, the Premiership class for altered cats over the age of 8 months, and the Kitten class for ittens between 4 and 8 months of age.

Cats are scored at each show, and points accumulate throughout the season.  At the end of the season, CFA recognizes the top cats with the NW, RW, and BW awards and titles:

National Breed Winner (BW) - The highest scoring cat per breed in the Championship class is designated as the National Breed Winner.  In addition, two additional cats are recognized as National 2nd and 3rd Best of Breed. (Note:  CFA began awarding 3rd Best of Breed in 1998.)  Only the Best of Breed is awarded the "BW" title.
National Winner (NW) -
Top 25 cats in Championship in all of CFA, Top 20 in Premiership and Kitten classes in all of CFA.
Regional Winner (RW) - Top 25 cats in Championship in a CFA Region, Top 20 in Premiership and Kitten classes in a CFA Region. There are 8 regions in CFA.

The CFA Breed Council congratulates the cats that have earned the titles:  NW, RW, and BW.  We hope you enjoy seeing these cats.
